This 30-minute training explores the daily activities of Family Support Professionals (FSPs) and describes skills that can improve an FSP's effectiveness: taking a strengths-based approach, using strategies for parent support, and the importance of effective communication skills.

 - Various strategies for effectively eliciting information from parents
 - The role of the Family Support Professional  
 - Specific needs and learning styles of each family
 - Strategies for redirecting and/or connecting conversation to child outcomes
 - Basic characteristics of both adolescent and adult learners
