Pre-Assessment

The Pre-Assessment is a 30-question assessment designed to provide a snapshot of your current knowledge of the competencies in the National Family Support Professional Competency Framework. It helps identify areas where you may want to focus your learning within the Institute.

It is recommended that you take the Pre-Assessment before completing any modules in the Institute. This allows your results to help guide your learning experience. You can take the Pre-Assessment as often as you want to be prepared for the Certification Exam.

Your Pre-Assessment results are mapped to your personal Career Compass. Your Career Compass uses these results to help identify competencies where additional learning may be beneficial and guide you toward Institute modules that can help you strengthen those areas. The Pre-Assessment also serves as a practice exam for the National Family Support Certification Exam helping you gain a better understanding of the types of questions contained in the exam.

To take the Pre-Assessment:

1. Go to your Career Compass.
2. Click “Take the Pre-Assessment” at the top of the page.
3. Complete the 30-question assessment.

After completing the assessment, you will be able to review:

• Which questions you answered correctly
• Which competencies from the National Family Support Professional Competency Framework where you have alignment with the National Family Support Professional Core Competency Framework
• An overview of your results within your Career Compass
